Both cutting-edge and familiar technologies played front-line roles in the global response to the Haiti earthquake. From GPS, to water filters, to web applications like Ushahidi, Twitter, and Google, both new and old technologies were deployed throughout the crisis to share information, coordinate the humanitarian response, and save lives.
